England 2005: Bovey Castle

Bovey Castle is the former manner house of the son of WH Smith (the book baron). It was converted into a hotel, but recently it has been bought and upgraded into a destination resort by Peter de Savary, of Scotland's Skibo Castle and other resorts.

Not the most popular change with the locals, but we had an enjoyable time there.

While at Bovey, we enjoyed the falconry display by Martin, featuring a huge eagle owl, some Harris hawks, and a speedy gyrfalcon.

For something different Bruce and Dad gave archery a go.

Here Bruce is preparing to shoot at a giant wooden carved bear. I think he got a paw on this shot.
