Budleigh Beach

As you can see this is not a sand beach. Nothing but large pebbles as far as the eye can see, made for a stone-throwing boy. This section of the beach used to be mouth of the river Otter, but a huge storm pushed these pebbles across, blocking off the previous route of the river.

Bruce tried sliding down the pebbles as if they were a hill of snow. Needless to say, little velocity was achieved, but it was fun to try. Bruce told Dad he thought a good roll in a puddle of motor oil would have done the trick.
A quick rest here out of the wind and we were off for more pebble adventures. Bruce would like it to be documented that Dad accidentally dropped a rather substantial pebble on Bruce's head during this visit and he wants to remember this when he's bigger than Dad!
