Camping on the Pacific

We said all summer that we should go camping, so in September, we finally did, with our friends, the Raders.

The campsites themselves were tight, but the beach was expansive, and Bruce and Callie loved it.

This is basically the view from our camp site. Beach access was no problem!

Byron and Laura (now much chillier having relocated to Sweden) along with Elliott, also had a good time. Elliott was great for a little guy; he literally is a happy camper!

We managed to get heavy fog and mist for the second day (it would have been better if we had been allowed beach fires -- right, Byron?), but a fine sand castle building contest kept everyone entertained, as well as more huge holes in the sand (this time we hit ground water, what fun)! And of course, the ultimate lure: pack up for home to warm beds far from poorly-muffled, unburned hydrocarbon-belching generators.
