Race Tour 2002

Finally, the race!

Paul joined me for all 3 days, while Julien, Micah (here), and some bum named Steve filled the third seat in turns.

Micah enjoyed using the race scanner where we found the British broadcast team as well as Jenson Button.

Everyone figures all F1 radio stuff is encrypted but so far only the top 2-3 teams seems to have gone that way.
The view from the seats. These seats were at the end of the front straight, right at the 1st corner.

This year the 1st corner runoff area had the sand replaced with asphalt. As a result, we had more late braking incidents but no cars flying off into the tires (as they had control longer). Phew!
