Biking

Last year, Dave tried the Seattle-to-Portland (STP) bike ride as a fitness goal. The ride is 200 miles along highways and most people take two days to finish it. Dave decided that was too easy; one day was his goal.

As you can see, he made it! 11 and 1/2 hours on the seat (18mph average), 13 hours total for food & rest stops, including a quick hip-flexor massage at 100 miles, and he was in Portland!

Consumed during the ride:

2.5 gallons of sport drink
5000 calories of boiled potatoes and cookies
Several ounces of bugs

Created during the ride:

2.4999 gallons of sweat
One set of rubber legs
A need to avoid cookies and boiled potatoes for several weeks
