Liz's 40th

I somehow decided that a dude ranch would be the perfect place to celebrate my 40th birthday.

Turns out it was a pretty good idea, just a bear to get to: drive to B.C. and keep on driving! After 6 hours into the interior (1 hour on a dirt road), we were here, in a great little cabin above the Fraser River canyon, at Big Bar Ranch.

I got to fit in a 2-hour trail ride, quite long enough to render me incapacitated for the next 24 hours, but fun while it lasted.

And the recovery was just in time to go again the next day, with Bruce and Dave.

The morning of my birthday, we introduced Bruce to not catching fish on this beautifully still lake.
And in the afternoon, following the family trail ride, we panned for gold down at the Fraser River. Bruce enjoyed both events. Quite the day!
