Running

After a lifetime of not being able to run a mile, I decided to shake things up a little. With help from a trainer over the fall and winter, I built up enough endurance and aerobic capacity that a 5K actually looked possible.

So, here I am, with supportive neighbor Sean, off for a little jog down the trail.

My goal was to run the whole way, with no walking breaks. We kept a reasonable pace (for me!) so that I even had a burst of speed for the end.

Bruce (in red & white) was waiting to cheer me at the finish line.

Final time: 41 minutes and 20 seconds. Lots of room for improvement, but a big change from last year!
