Bruce in the Snow |

After a quick trip to the snowsuit store, Mom and Dad thought they were ready for Bruce and snow. How wrong we were! Keeping boots and gloves on a 1-year-old proved beyond our parenting abilities. His gloves really were just hand-binding devices and his boots fell off at slightest puff of wind. When we finally got to the sledding hill, we though that standing Bruce on his boots would keep them on. When we next turned around, there was poor Bruce face down in the ice/snow with a bleeding lip and tears freezing to his cheeks. |

His second time out in the snow in Toronto (post-blizzard) worked out much better. Mom and Dad had discovered the string loops on the snow pants and the boots were now secure. Dad decided to plant Bruce in the snow here for a quick picture. (Yes, Bruce is standing!) Bruce made the best of this and started digging and hacking at the snow with real zest. |

He especially loved to karate chop chunks of snow that Dad cut for him. What Dad thought would be a 30-second snow plant turned into a 20 minute digging extravaganza for Bruce. His cheeks by this time were acquiring that "I live in the north" hue and it was time to head inside before frostbite set in. |
